The Story of Sabores de Marise:
Our journey began over a decade ago, when my daughter Amanda was diagnosed with celiac disease. Faced with this new challenge, I decided to seek out the knowledge to offer her a safe and tasty diet. My initial goal was just to learn a few basic recipes so she would feel included, but that mission grew into something much bigger.
Around the same time, I traveled to Rio de Janeiro to support my other daughter with the birth of my granddaughter. Two years later, we got more news: my granddaughter was celiac too. That moment was a turning point, because I realized I needed to go further. The wish to give them both an inclusive diet led me to study gluten-free cooking in depth. As a grandmother, I couldn't bear watching my little granddaughter want to eat like everyone around her and not be able to.
However, I wasn't content with just the recipes. I wanted to understand the roots of celiac disease and its impact on people's health and daily lives. Since then, I have dedicated myself to studying and raising awareness about this condition, promoting a safer and more welcoming environment for celiacs.
We know how challenging it can be to sit at the table and not be able to eat the same food as everyone else. Cross-contamination isn't a minor detail — it's a health issue. That's why our mission goes beyond cooking: we want to bring information, respect and inclusion to everyone living with celiac disease.
If you have celiac friends or family members, understanding this reality is essential. Our commitment is to offer not only safe and delicious products, but also to promote knowledge and empathy so more people understand the importance of a gluten-free environment.
Today, Sabores de Marise is a reference in gluten-free food in Ribeirão Preto, offering gluten-free bread, cakes, sweets, savory snacks and pasta, including lactose-free and vegan options.
